Boba in Billings?

This post is specifically for my good friend Julie D. I found a restaurant in Billings that serves Boba! I had the coconut version and it was pretty darn good! I got some pretty strange stares from the people around me, but it was worth it. Come to visit and I'll take you there! ;-)

For those of you unaware...this is an Asian drink that is usually a tea based, frozen, blended drink with large tapioca balls in the bottom. You use a large straw to suck up the balls with the slushy drink. It's best when the balls get a bit frozen. Sounds aweful...and takes some getting used to. But with Todd and Julie raving about it, I just had to try it when I went to California. Not bad...an aquired taste I suppose. The more I've had it, the more I've enjoyed it. I never found it in Spokane, and certainly didn't expect to stumble across it in Billings. Heehee.

Church Update

Well...some good news. I've found a church that seems to be promising. I went to the weekend worship service a few weeks ago for the first time. The message seems to be pretty solid, with a focus on the importance of the Word and outreach. They're also large enough to have some good ministries in which to to get involved. When I first attended, I sat next to a couple who ended up being extraordinarily friendly. The gal has been faithful to call, and has invited me to women's Bible study on Tuesdays. Last week I went to the study and was truly encouraged. It's a group of ladies from college age to 80+ yrs old. The leader touched on some potentially difficult issues, and I was very encouraged at how she handled the Word in response.

I'm still hungry for fellowship, but I'm starting to see some potential relationships forming. Praise God!

Wanna come over for coffee...I mean a latte?

Yes, yes, it's true, I finally "invested" in a home espresso machine. And, yes again, I chose to buy the fancy one. I've been researching machines for weeks, reading hundreds of reviews, hmming and haaing over the price tag, etc. I finally pulled the trigger last week, and the box finally arrived today.
So now, with just the touch of a button, and just a few moments, I have a very good cup-o-joe. The engineer in me also takes pleasure in the gadgetry. Hee hee...I'm almost giddy about my new machine.

Church Shopping

I had the blessing to spend many years in the same church in Spokane and grew to understand why God wants us to be involved in the Body of Christ. I find myself in Billings now, and I can honestly say that I miss my church body more than anything else. (That's saying something too...because I miss alot of things in my Spokane life.) I long took for granted the importance of consistent fellowship, grounded and biblical teaching, and opportunities to invest in the lives of others.

I've been to three separate churches now, trying to attend each a handful of times. I've yet to find a church to call home. In the meantime, I'm starving for good fellowship and a place to serve.

This move has been hard. I'm struggling with loneliness, and questioning why I chose to move here. Do I choose a church that I know I will have fundamental disagreements with, or do I continue to shop? What a struggle.

Get'n Ready for Baby

My sister, Kristen, is expecting her baby in early March. So, it's time to get that baby room done, already! ;-) So, I spent the weekend painting closet doors, a bookshelf, and an old dresser white. We got registered at Target, enlarged and framed some prints, and painted some more. By the time I left, the baby room was looking ready for it's owner. Mission complete.
