This post is specifically for my good friend Julie D. I found a restaurant in Billings that serves Boba! I had the coconut version and it was pretty darn good! I got some pretty strange stares from the people around me, but it was worth it. Come to visit and I'll take you there! ;-)
For those of you unaware...this is an Asian drink that is usually a tea based, frozen, blended drink with large tapioca balls in the bottom. You use a large straw to suck up the balls with the slushy drink. It's best when the balls get a bit frozen. Sounds aweful...and takes some getting used to. But with Todd and Julie raving about it, I just had to try it when I went to California. Not bad...an aquired taste I suppose. The more I've had it, the more I've enjoyed it. I never found it in Spokane, and certainly didn't expect to stumble across it in Billings. Heehee.

Yummy! I know it as "bubble tea", and I first tried it in Sioux City! Crazy, huh? It is some weird sutff. But yummy. I highly doubt Rapid City has it, though.
Lindsay! You had boba? I can't believe it! We're coming to Billings this summer, so we have a date! You and Todd can enjoy the frozen stuff, but I prefer the straight black pearl milk tea with SOFT boba! :) Yum!
Next week we go to California and I plan on getting boba'ed-out, if that's possible! I can't wait!!!
So, save some boba for me and keep on drinking it! There is nothing like it!!!!!
I love you & miss you!
Minneapolis has bubble tea-- and we have a Taiwanese student living with us who actually knows how to cook the stuff! We found it at the Asian grocery and drank it in normal tea. I think the tapioca pearls are alot more exciting in the coconut blended stuff. So great to read your blog-- Andie E.
